Building new methods and bodies of knowledge to drive intersectional social and cultural change.

ABOUT THE LAB

As a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and design practitioners, the Social and Cultural Innovation Lab (SCI) focuses on social and cultural challenges at various levels: ranging form community, local, and national. The aim is to search for new methodology and tools, and to establish a body of knowledge on social innovation, design for sustainability, inclusive design, and cultural management through case studies from real world contexts. The issues we study range from arts and crafts wisdom, to social well-being, to education, through to the reexamination of the creative industry as instrument for social welfare—to enhance the quality of life of locals and the marginalized.

The principles of our lab is built upon our multi-expertise, our international network, our collaborative spirit; and at the foundation, our design thinking practice that drives our approach to innovation.
